HOW I WORK
My integrative approach to therapy combines elements of psychodynamics (with a focus on the past), cognitive behavioural therapy (with a focus on goal setting and the future) and humanistic therapy (which puts the client at the heart of the process). All of this is done through a relational approach which recognises that the healing power of therapy is co-created between the client and the therapist within their working relationship.

Core values of my practice are honesty, compassion and authenticity. I approach every client in a warm and non-judgmental way to create a safe and trusting relationship.

As a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I am bound to uphold the professional standards of ethics and confidentiality. If you would like to know more about different types of therapy, please visit the BACP website.
WAYS OF WORKING
I currently offer face-to-face and remote counselling (online and telephone). When you first get in touch with me, I offer a free telephone consultation. This allows you to get a sense of me as a person, you can then decide if I might be the right therapist for you. You can also choose to do this over email.
Face-to-Face Counselling
My face-to-face, in-person sessions are conducted in Blackwood Wellbeing Centre (High Street, Blackwood, NP12 1AF).
Online Counselling
If you choose online counselling, I will email you a joining link for our session for our pre-arranged time. Please ensure that you are in a safe and confidential space where you will not be interrupted for the duration of our session. You may use your computer or your smartphone.
Telephone Counselling
If you choose telephone counselling, I will contact you at our pre-arranged time. Please ensure that you are in a safe and confidential space where you will not be interrupted for the duration of our session.
